Greetings!

My name is Isis Gary and I am the music teacher at Woodberry Hills Elementary. I am a recent graduate with a B.A. in Music. I learned piano and voice when I was six years old, and added on guitar and drums a few years later. I performed at numerous venues including Madison Square Garden, the U.S Tennis Open, and Carnegie Hall. I have a passion for the arts and like to continually find ways to engage myself. I love being outdoors, baking, drawing, and serving at my church. My goal is for the students to be creative and appreciative of music, being able to express themselves with the musical tools they learn in the classroom. When students learn music, they not only gain knowledge, but also a way to communicate. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow says, “Music is the universal language of mankind.” How amazing is it that we have such an easily accessible way to connect with one another at our disposal!
