Dear Gibson Elementary Families:
I am so excited to introduce myself as the new principal of E. A. Gibson Elementary School. It is a privilege and honor to join a school community with a dedicated staff and families who are committed to the success of their children. As this greeting reaches you, I hope your families are enjoying summer vacation and looking forward to the beginning of a successful school year in August.
As our journey together begins, I want to share a little bit about myself. I am a public school educator with more than 25 years of experience. I am no stranger to hard work. During my career, I have served as a science teacher, curriculum support personnel, academic coach, basketball coach and a school administrator. In my career, I have helped struggling students overcome obstacles and increase their academic success even when others doubted their abilities.
On a personal note, my husband and I have a blended family of nine children, five grandchildren, and one very enthusiastic Labrador retriever. The success of our children and grandchildren is at the heart of our family. This personal belief spills over into my professional world. Not only do I want the best for my children and grandchildren, I also believe that each Gibson Elementary School student deserves an excellent education and every chance to succeed.
For this reason, I am committed to continuing the work that has been started by maintaining a safe place where all children’s gifts and talents can be used to inspire, educate and develop them for a successful future.
I hope that we can count on all families to partner with us as we build upon the hard work that has been achieved.
