Welcome!  I have lived in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, all my life.  I attended Mt. Hermon Elementary, Blairs Middle, and graduated with honors from Tunstall High School.  I continued my education at Danville Community College and graduated from Averett University with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Masters of Education in Curriculum & Instruction.  I began my teaching career as a middle school Language arts teacher for 7 years at Dan River Middle, in Pittsylvania County Schools.  After earning a Library Media endorsement, I began working for Danville Public Schools at both Glenwood Elementary and Woodrow Wilson Elementary.  At both schools' closure, I began working at Park Avenue Elementary where I have been for many, many years. When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two teenage daughters.  I also enjoy reading, watching television and movies, listening to music, and snuggling with my precious dog, Rooney.
